The Higgs Field Series

The Higgs Field
Before weight,
there was only movement—
light without memory,
matter without hands.
Then the field arrived
everywhere at once,
unseen, unannounced,
like moisture in soil
or breath in the chest.
Some things passed through untouched,
forever drifting.
Others slowed,
felt resistance,
and in that resistance
learned to stay.
Mass is not force.
It is relationship.
It is the moment when motion agrees
to be held.
The Higgs boson is a brief disturbance—
a ripple in the invisible—
proof that the universe can carry itself.
Because of it,
stone remembers gravity,
water gathers,
hands can shape clay,
and the body knows where it belongs.
Nothing was imposed.
Everything was invited
to remain.
